2010 - The Year We Make Contact
Friday, January 22, 2010 at 3:02PM What am I doing? I often ask myself this question. Generally, the answer is a list of projects all at different stages of completion in production concurrently.
What am I doing?
Editing
Little City vs. Richland County Regulators bout video - I've been totally swamped at work and unable to work on editing the bout. I should be able to put more time into it and get it done in the next couple weeks.
Aeriealist Demo - I shot a promo for an ETSU Ariealist class last summer. It's beautiful footage. I've got to get it edited down to a couple promotional videos for class in the next week.
Jake Legg's Lost State Bus Tour- I've got to finish the zombie attack video for their youtube site. It's not much work, but my system resources are taken up by the other two projects. I hope to finish this one monday.
Writing
Ideas - I've been making lots of notes on a couple stories and writing out some new stuff. So
me will become videos, some may be part of another idea I'm dreaming up. I have a ghost story musical, some horror shorts, an interesting idea about a coffin, and bits of other things that aren't ready to be explored yet.
Script- I'm slowly working on a script. It's the story of a man and a woman in love with them
selves. It's narcissistic horror. Guess who I had in mind while writing it. C.J. has stuck with me, he deserves a vanity project. No ETA.
Projects
Several goals for this year:
Roller Derby Basic Skills videos - a series of videos illustrating proper roller derby technique that can be used by newbies to pass their basic skills assesment.
Roller Derby Promos- We have some funny and exciting promo videos planned for the team. They will be YouTube favorites!
Short Horror- We got a couple done last year, but I'd like to accomplish more of the short short horror stories. I also would like to finish the X-Files video we started but the setting sun got us.
Stage Play
Yup. I want to write a short theatrical play to be performed at a local space or bar. It's fun/cheesy on the surface, but, hopefully, with a chewy center of horror and discomfort. It's an expanded version of a short short idea I wrote about a man and a jar of bar-b-que sauce.
I want to be guest host on Daytime Tricities on WJHL. If the wife of the local car dealership owner can do it, the announcer for the local roller derby team can! Write them asking for me!
Of course, my I make many plans and only follow the strongest, then, other projects arise after the fact. If I can accomplish half of these items, I will end 2010 satisfied.
